Happy Gift Day is a tool for parents. You (the parent) create the account and enter everything. Children do not have accounts; they use Kids Mode on your device, inside your session.
For each child you add, we store what you type: a first name or nickname, an optional age, optional interests, an avatar color and emoji, the āBehavior Scoreā number you set (1 to 10) and its history, the behavior notes you write, badges earned, and the wishlist items your child adds in Kids Mode (title and an optional photo of the wished item).
We store this so the app works for your family. It is private to the parents in your family by default. We do not sell it, we do not show ads, and we do not use it to track anyone across other apps or websites.
You can choose to share a Gift Day Card for a child. A Gift Day Card is a private link. Anyone who has the link can open it without logging in, so only send it to family you trust.
A Gift Day Card shows the behavior score and the child's wishlist (with photos, and the child's age and interests if you entered them), plus a short note if you choose to write one. Behavior notes are never shown on a Gift Day Card.
A relative can tap "I'm getting this one" on a wishlist item and type a name (for example, "Aunt Kate"). That name is shown to you and to other people holding the same link, never to the child.
You can stop sharing or create a new link at any time in Gift Day List. The old link stops working immediately. We count how many times a card is opened so your child can see that family is watching, but we do not record who opened it.
If you link a Gift Day Card to a child in a gift exchange in this app, the family buying for that child sees the same card inside the exchange.
If you start or join a gift exchange, we store what you and the other members type into it: the exchange name and party details, family or household names, the first names, ages, interests and gift ideas of the kids taking part, and the names and wish lists of the adults taking part. Only people who joined that exchange with its code can see this.
When adults draw names, who drew whom is kept on our server and is never shown to anyone else, including the organizer. Each person can see only the one name they drew.
A parent can choose to show a child's Gift Day Card to the family buying for that child. It shows what that parent's share setting allows, the same as a share link. Behavior notes are never shown.
Gift ideas is an optional feature. It is off until you tap it and agree to a notice. The suggestions are written by an artificial intelligence service operated by a third party, which processes the request on our behalf.
What is sent: for the one person you are buying for, their age (for a child), their interests, gift ideas or wish list text, the exchange's budget and the party theme.
What is never sent: names, email addresses, family names, account details, behavior scores or behavior notes.
The request is used only to write the suggestions shown to you. We do not use it for advertising or tracking. You can stop using the feature at any time; nothing is sent unless you tap it.
We store your email address and password (hashed) to sign you in, and the family name and parent PIN (hashed) you choose. Wishlist photos are stored on our hosting provider (Base44).
The weekly report emails a summary of a child's mood and notes to your own email address only, when you tap the button.
Crash and performance reports are part of the platform this app is built on. They can include a device identifier, device model, system version and which screen was open. They are not tied to your name or email.
Happy Gift Day is a family game and organizer, not parenting advice, and not a substitute for talking with your kids. You are responsible for what you enter and who you share Gift Day Cards with. Please keep it kind: the app is built to encourage, not to shame.
The app is free to use. The free plan includes three children on your dashboard.
Pro, $6.99 a year. Unlimited children on your dashboard, unlimited families and kids in your gift exchange, and more than one gift exchange at a time (the free plan includes three children and one exchange with up to 3 families and 10 kids). If a free trial or an introductory price is offered, it is shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Family Pass is no longer sold. If you already have one, it keeps everything in Pro until it ends, and you can manage or cancel it the same way.
Pro is an auto-renewing annual subscription. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for another year unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current year ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. If you start with a free trial, you are not charged during the trial. When the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged the standard yearly price shown above, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. An introductory price, when one is offered, applies to the first period only. After that the subscription renews at the standard yearly price, which is higher than the introductory price.
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the year you already paid for. On iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose this app, then Cancel Subscription. On Android: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, tap Payments & subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, choose this app, then Cancel subscription. You can also reach both of those screens from Settings inside this app.
Refunds are handled by the store that billed you, Apple or Google, under that store's own policy. We cannot issue store refunds ourselves, but write to us and we will help.
Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your country; the price you are charged is always the one shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. We may change prices for future renewal periods, and the store will tell you before that happens.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use this app. Do not misuse it, break it, or use it to harm anyone. The app is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will always be available or error free.
In the app: open Settings, tap Delete account, and confirm. This deletes your account right away.
If you are the only parent in your family, every child, wishlist, photo, behavior note, badge and Gift Day Card is deleted with it. If another parent is in the family, they keep the family data and only your login is removed.
Your gift exchange data goes too: your membership, your name in the draw and the wish list you wrote there, and your family group with its kids when nobody else shares it. If you are the last person in an exchange, the whole exchange is deleted. If you organized an exchange that other people are still in, it passes to the longest-standing member, and a name draw you were part of is cleared so the group can draw again. Deletion cannot be undone.
Without app access: email support@doviapp.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We do it within a few days and confirm by email.
